Safeguarding tomorrow... with Innovations and a Splash of Humor: Schnellzeichnerin Silvia at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hannover

When you hear the words “civil protection,” “fire electrical safety,” and “life-saving technologies,” your mind probably goes straight to heavy machinery, complex software, stern faces, and immense responsibility. And rightfully so. From June 1 to 6, 2026, Hannover, Germany, became the world capital of safety and security as the industry’s largest international flagship fair opened its doors: INTERSCHUTZ 2026. Under the fitting motto “Safeguarding tomorrow,” the event brought together over 85,000 professionals and top experts from all over the globe.

Yet, amidst the sea of innovations, ambulances, state-of-the-art medical technology, and firefighting vehicles, there is one thing without which no mission can succeed: the human spirit and good energy. This is exactly where I came in. For three days (on June 2, 3, and today, June 4), I stepped in as Schnellzeichnerin Silvia to bring a healthy dose of humor, beaming faces, and live art to the booth of the global industry leader, Everlux.

The Exhibition: Where Technology Meets Real Life

INTERSCHUTZ is no ordinary trade fair; it is the place where the future of rescue services is shaped. The core areas of the exhibition are divided with surgical precision:

Digital Technologies and Networking: Live demonstrations of hardware and software for real-time crisis management.
Rescue Services in Changing Times: The latest ambulances, stretchers, and medical equipment ready to meet new global challenges.
Fire Fighting and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The entire spectrum of protective clothing guaranteeing maximum safety for the heroes who walk into the fire every day.

Strolling through the exhibition halls in Hannover, you can truly feel the enormous scale and weight of these industries. But how does a brand stand out from this massive crowd of exhibitors? How do you get a tired visitor or a potential business partner to pause, take a breath, and remember your specific booth?

The Partner: EverLux – The Light That Saves Lives

My “home” for these three days was the Everlux booth – a company whose name stands worldwide for uncompromising safety. They are pioneers and market leaders in the manufacturing of photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) safety signs and evacuation systems. Their products – ranging from stairwell markings in skyscrapers to complex evacuation plans for the maritime sector – function flawlessly under any conditions to show people the way to safety in the most critical moments.

EverLux understands perfectly that safety requires absolute precision – but they also know that behind every B2B deal, there is a real human being. That is why they decided to offer their guests a completely new trade fair experience. Twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, their booth transformed into a stage of pure joy.

Live Art: My Mission at the EverLux Easel

When I set up my easel, organize my special markers, and sit on the chair, I begin my very own race against time. As someone who loves motorcycle stunts and the ultimate adrenaline kick, speed is just in my blood. I had exactly 4 minutes per person – time in which I couldn’t just sketch a face, but had to capture the true essence of these serious men and women in uniforms or business suits.

A live caricature at such a highly technical exhibition is a brilliant social catalyst. When a serious software developer, an experienced firefighter, or a CEO sits in front of me with crossed arms – initially skeptical about whether a young gal can really surprise them – I don’t just use the marker, I use psychology. We start to chat, joke about the stress of the trade fair, and the ice melts in no time.

For the first two minutes, they sit there frozen, but by the third minute, the ice breaks and they start to laugh. When I finally turn the page around and that powerful, shared “Wow” effect happens, the crowd gathered around the Everlux booth routinely bursts into applause.

Art That Glows in the Dark!

If you think the magic ends with the very last stroke of my marker, you are wrong! Everlux had another incredible surprise waiting. As you can see in the photos, we lined up some of the finished caricatures on the special demonstration evacuation staircase at the booth. In normal light, it all looks like a wonderful gallery of smiling faces. But then… the lights go out!

In complete darkness, the true magic of photoluminescence happens! Everlux’s patented technology, which usually saves lives, now made the wide smiles of my characters shine bright! WOW! We literally turned safety into art! We proved that even when it is pitch black around us, positive energy and good humor always find a way to surface and show us the right direction.

The Perfect Balance: Why Serious Business Needs a Live Caricaturist

The connection between Everlux and Schnellzeichnerin Silvia at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 proved to be a perfect symbiosis. Everlux manufactures signs that guide people in the dark and show them a safe way out. My caricatures, on the other hand, made their faces light up with smiles and helped them escape the stress of a long exhibition day for a brief moment.

While the technologies at the fair are safeguarding tomorrow (“Safeguarding tomorrow”), humor and art rescue the present – right here and now. Everlux’s guests didn’t just go home with brochures and new business contacts; they left with a unique, personal artwork on paper that will soon take pride of place in their office or home. And every time they look at that humorous caricature, they will remember the fantastic energy and hospitality at the Everlux booth.

Thank you Hannover, thank you INTERSCHUTZ, and above all, a huge thank you to the entire Everlux team for the trust, the shared laughter, and the proof that even in the most serious industries, a smile is still the shortest distance between two people!
